About Me:
Intentional Pause Has Been the Key to Clarity - and Success.
I was a serious ladder climber during the days of my corporate life. I held an executive position as a Certified Executive Coach in HR, and for many years I “did the things.” You name it - from leadership development, leading and implementing org-wide engagement surveys to organizational strategic people planning for managers… I was all in. That was, until over time my role no longer felt impactful as it once had.
Coaching mid-level managers was my sweet spot, but I noticed more and more internal clients feeling burnt out, unheard, and quite frankly - hopeless. Without top leadership on board and open to change, clients were unable to break through the decades of antiquated beliefs, love for “how we’ve always done things” and - pride. Week after week top talent would come in for coaching. From tears to raging anger, often my hands were tied on breaking through the outdated beliefs of the leaders of my coaching clients. Eventually, I ended up coaching many of them out - into other roles under new leaders, or into new organizations altogether.
In 2023, I left the corporate world to take an intentional pause. First and foremost to care for a family member who was a victim of my addiction to work - home needed my attention. Once I was “away from the office”, I made a stark discovery about the way we do business and leadership in general. It wasn’t new - I had read it in so many leadership books, but it was the first time I was truly present to fully digest that I too, had been living it.
I took about 6 months to reflect on the outdated, unhealthy patterns of the way business was being done. I dissected my 15+ years of experience and the way I watched organizations and small businesses do things over time - from developing leaders, spending time and money, communicating (including tossing around high ticket buzz-word initiatives no one seemed to really understand or want around) - and decided it was time to make a bigger impact.
Not only could I clearly see where business was missing the mark on the future of people (employees and their development), I was able to identify major gaps in how we manage and lead people. My gigantic lesson learned? We’ve outgrown the way we do business.
From the “initiatives” from HR, to the new buzzword of the month, we are so engulfed in WHAT we’re doing, we’ve lost sight of HOW we’re doing it.
Is it time to consider what you’ve outgrown, and what has potentially outgrown you?
Here’s what you’ll get when you work with me:
Intentionality. I’m not here to convince you need something or sell you any service. I’m here to empower you to figure out exactly what you need while I support along the way.
Kind candor. I’ll tell you what I see, what I don’t see, and work with you so that you can too. Sometimes our vision is weakest with the things right in front of us.
Reflective, deep questions. Coaching is all about empowering YOU. The answers you seek are already within you. I help “nudge” ah-ha moments to fruition.
A partnership. My goal is to partner with you to live and work at your very best. (Your Perpetual Capacity)
Clear, confidential communication. Along with candor, the best way to support you is to communicate clearly, attentively and in confidence.
People results. Your business improves when people are a healthier version of themselves. If you’re a top leader, we’ll be starting with you.
Growth. This means you’ll have to encounter change, but we’ll approach it from a healthy place with a clear, strategized approach. You can’t have growth without change.
Here’s who’s coming to work with you:
A bi-lingual (Spanish) traveler, having started my journeys to Mexico at age 14. I’ve climbed Machu Picchu and stood in awe of the Urubamba River Valley in Peru. I’ve also been fortunate to trek through Turkey’s Izmir, Istanbul and Kusadasi, and work missions in rural Dominican Republic. I now call Colorado my home and enjoy the Rocky Mountains.
A lover of diversity. Diversity of people, culture and thought. I believe everyone adds value unless they’re sucking the life out of their team/organization. You’ll get that Jen too (that’s the candor).
A mom of two amazing adults who’ve made me proud beyond belief.
A podcast host (if you’re into podcasts…) Stop. Drop. & R.O.L.E. is another way I support leaders and teams.
An intentional, kind, candid professional that believes in true leadership and robust professional development. I geek out on the writings of Patrick Lencioni, Albert Tate, Brené Brown, Markus Buckingham, Craig Groeschel, and often binge on Gallup research.
An aspiring author. My first book is in the works, set for publication December, 2025.
A Global Leadership Summit (GLS) junkie. It’s the only summit I’ve committed to for the past 9 years since discovering it. A professional goal is to one day speak there.
A real person. I think I’m funnier than my kids do, I enjoy the front range in Colorado Springs in my Jeep (no ducks), and I put my heels (or boots) on one foot at a time just like everyone else.
